No medals for Bravery
We were all hoping that Pete would rue the day that he missed out on tickets for The Bravery on the 28th, but sadly, he won't! For this event, we had a new attendee as Vikki decided to come along and help Mark celebrate the milestone of reaching 34 years of age.
Despite the extra time it gave us at the bar beforehand, coming on stage at 10pm already put them at a disadvantage and despite a fantastic rendition of An Honest Mistake, a very late encore of Fearless and a cracking effort at Neils favourite, the rest were all too humdrum. The crowd didn't really get going and even the energy of the lead man (who looked astonishingly like Joey from Friends from our place on the left!) couldn't get everyone out of sleepiness.
The combination of it being on Monday, cold, and having a late start made it a solid 6 for me.
In fact, this would have been lower had Vikki not provided immense entertainment with suggestions that the floor in the venue could have been a little cleaner!
Anyway, it's Weller on Monday, so we'll see if Mondays are better for him .....

Got to agree with Mark that the start time of 10pm was a touch rank due to a) Brixton curfew of 11pm means that 60mins of music INCLUDUNG the encore and b) due to our increasing age we need to have an early night on a Monday otherwise we're f***ed for the rest of the week.
I thought the lead singer looked like Joey from Friends but I think HE thought he was Joey Ramone...if he did he was a poor imitation.
Couple of good numbers but I watched with my arms crossed for most of it.
This is the first of 4 gigs in just of 10 days in run up to Christmas....Franz at Ally Pally tonight which has got to be better than this average show. 6 for me too.
